"From June 2019 until present Herbert Luciole attended and won the Gogbot “youngblood” award. Organised a blockade of the Apple store in Amsterdam. Participated in a group show at Dutch Design week (Working hard or hardly working). Attended the Global graduation show in Dubai and organised a covert act of civil disobedience. Participated in a group show at Maison Florida, Hasselt, Belgium. Exhibited at Art Rotterdam as well as given talk at the symposium on “Quantum supremacy” and exhibited at a group show World press photo house Amsterdam (Be Water).”

The World is Watching, Nov 2019These "Smartphone enabled riot shields" were assembled inside the Global Graduation show 2019 by three residence of hong kong. The were then taken to the streets of Dubai for a demonstration of solidarity with the Free Hong Kong Movement.  The World is Watching is a reference to the brutal Chicago riots of 1968. The photo and shields were later included in a World Press Photo exhibition titled "“Be Water!” - The Strategy of Resistance in the Hong Kong Protests.

The Apple Store Blockade, Oct 2019 - To Be Continued...In October 2019 we blockaded the flagship Apple store in Amsterdam.  We regarded this action as a societal "probe". The point of which is to determine the public, corporate and law enforcement response. The public response was engaged, supportive curiosity. The Apple store manager asked: "if you are so against apple why are you using our phones in all your shields" - Answer : "We are your customers and we are turning  against you" The Police declared that as long as we show our faces we are not breaking any laws and because we are low in number we need not declare an official protest or give notice.
